Zac Taylor

Physiotherapist

A Bit About Zac
The perfect mix of beach and country, born in Newcastle and bred in Singleton. Following subsequent sporting injuries and various hours spent in a Physio clinic, Zac decided to pursue a career in Physiotherapy himself.

Sports and Downtime
Whilst not actively involved in a sport now, Zac’s younger years were spent playing Rugby League, and as a result he developed a passion for maintaining a physically active and balanced lifestyle.

Unfortunately, Zac’s Rugby League endeavours were ceased after he suffered back-to-back ACL reconstructions at a young age and decided to prioritise both his physical and mental health.

Following a stint of entirely no sport, in 2019 Zac decided to start training for a Triathlon to fuel his competitive side. Unfortunately there was no claim to fame here, and is no competition for former colleague Dave.

During his downtime you will often find him out and about in Newcastle enjoying time with friends or family.

Physio

Study

Zac studied Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle with his heart set on private practice. Interestingly, throughout his studies Zac had hopes to one day work for Next-Gen Physio and will admit he had no plan to work elsewhere.

Holistic

Zac’s approach to Physiotherapy is holistic in nature. Zac understands the physical aspect of an injury isn’t the only effect on the body, and sometimes a patient needs somebody to vent as well. You can rest assured that you will feel heard with Zac as your Physiotherapist.

Manual Therapy

Zac has undertaken his Level 1 GEMt dry needling course, with plans to continue his education in this domain and undertake the following levels in the near future. Whilst there may be some areas of the body he can’t perform dry needling just yet, he is able to perform dry needling on the most commonly effected muscle groups.

Testing

Like all of our Physiotherapist’s at Next Gen, Zac often uses our Axit System from Strength by Numbers to gather specific strength numbers, and compare both your symmetry and see how your strength matches up with the expected ‘normative data’.

Imaging
As with all Physio’s at Next Gen Physio, Zac can refer you for most scans such as Xray, Ultrasound, MRI, though sometimes this is best done through a specialist for expert interpretation.
